Inspiration for Album art

I found this a few days before i took the photo for the front cover and i thought the bad idea was great so i built up on the idea and added the hostage idea.

This is just the music video without edits and without band shots. The coin in the music video represents
the lyrics and how alcohol addition is killing him. i think it'll fit

Photoshoot

I took a variety of styles of pictures on the green screen with the members of the band in our final music video to be our final image on the magazine advert. Out of these selected few one of them will be the image i will use to advertise the album 'Nucking futs' in the final advert product.

IPod lip sync

For my first idea for the music video i had to film the lips of my colluge in the group i was working in and mime the lyrics of a NOFX cover of the song 'Bob'. I did this by putting the camera on a tripod to ensure that the camera was steady at all times to make the video look professional and keep to the conventions of a music video. I played the music in the background of the video so the person miming can keep in rhyme with the lead singer in the original track which is important if this illusion was going to work. After this piece of video footage was shot our idea was to put it on an hand held iPod to represents everyone's mouth in the video and pass it between the group

Green screen practice with IPod

As we didn't know how the ipod screen would work on the green screen and being filmed by a video camera we decided to test it out with a short sequence of the music video ,which we had planned out in a story board, It also showed us if the sequence looked effective on the green screen or if we needed audience feedback to improve/change this. As well as this the green screen practice allowed us to see if we had set up the lighting to create the effect we want to represent in our music video.

Green screen rough cut

This is a rough cut of the first part of the music video that is all on the green screen as its the intro of the song that last about 30 seconds. We wanted to use the green screen so that it allowed us to put a background behind the person with the ipod or even create an effect so that the lyrics come up in the back ground. In addition to this we had an idea of changing the colour in the background to represent the song mood at each point over the whole of the track.

Green screen test

When i put a colour background behind the performer on the green screen there was a problem as the green carpet the college uses for the green screen had being vacum cleaned and you could see the marks which ruinded the effects. Therefore we had to rethink and decided to start on a new idea. Analysis on the PowerPoint.

My inspiration: Arctic Monkeys -Leave before the lights come on

This video by the Arctic Monkeys 'Leave before the lights come on' was my inspiration for the music video i produced as it was from a same genre of Rancid but most of all because it took its own interpretation of the song and displayed it through a reenactment of a persons experience.I thought that was an original and good way to represent the the meaning of the video in this type of format as it keeps your audience gripped on the songs lyrics to think if they agree with the interpretation

My inspiration: Arctic Monkeys -When the sun goes down

This video by the Arctic Monkeys 'When the sun goes down' was my inspiration for the music video i produced as it was from a same genre of Rancid but most of all because it took its own interpretation of the song and displayed it through a reenactment of a persons experience. As the song was about some ones life like 'bob' by Rancid it was an interesting way of displaying a music video as a short film and challenge the conventions of a normal music video which i thought was appropriate for Rancid as their attitude towards the music industry is to always challenge conventions and become orinla hence their pop punk genre.
